This maize hails from the coastal and regional lowlands of Mexico. Small, deep-yellow dented kernels. Ideal for grinding, produces deeply flavorful cornmeal, tortillas, and tamales, especially after nixtamalization. Tall stalks that reach 7-9'. A major ancestor to modern commercial corn varieties.
