A very old French heirloom strain that produces smooth, uniform orange-red roots to 10-12" long and 2-3" across at the shoulder with a pronounced taper. Tender flesh with little core that is good for fresh eating, and stores well. Intense flavor, with hints of ginger, and an incredible, earthy sweetness.
