Tephrosia purpurea. 
Slow growing and perennial green manure cover crop with nitrogen-fixing properties. Produces 2-3' tall bushes with lovely small purple flowers. Readily self sows, suited for summer fallows, hardy and drought resistant. The plant has a range of traditional medicinal uses too.
